Banking Foundation is an open knowledge and infrastructure layer for modern banking. It structures the banking world — institutions, payment rails, standards, technology providers, regulators and jurisdictions — into typed entities with stable identifiers and explicit relationships, published as both a website and an open API.

The premise: banking runs on shared infrastructure that almost nobody can see in one place. Rails, standards and regulatory regimes are documented in scattered PDFs and vendor decks; the connective structure — what connects to what, who supervises whom, which layer runs on which standard — is exactly what this platform makes explicit and machine-readable.

The product principle: don't build another banking website — build the knowledge and infrastructure layer underneath modern banking. Every feature must make Banking Foundation more useful as infrastructure; anything else is out of scope.
